Physical Therapy Aide Job Description

We are North Idaho's premiere spine surgery and interventional pain management practice. We are committed to offering a caring and comprehensive approach to spine care, and we're in need of a Physical Therapy Aide. The PT Aide position within Axis Spine Center is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient centered care in the clinical setting for all patient populations.  The PT Aide supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and will do the following:

  • Record documentation in the EMR, gathering medical information for the patient’s visit
  • Perform interventions and patient related tasks under the direction of the Physical Therapists
  • Support with administrative duties, as necessary to include communication with patients & other practices, scheduling, & filing
  • Assist with other responsibilities & projects as determined by their supervisor

  • High School Diploma
  • Interest in the medical or sports fields, with a kinesiology/physiology background
  • Strong medical terminology background preferred
  • Able to pass criminal background check
  • Strong typing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Understand and adhere to the federal confidentiality regulations

Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with patients, families, community members, volunteers and other staff. This position is ideal for those applying for Physical Therapy or Physical Therapy Assistant programs in order to acquire experience hours.  Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Meets all health requirements, as required by law. Possess current Basic Life Support certification. Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and the use of an EMR system.

The responsibilities of this position involve significant physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 60 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and twisting. All employees of Axis Spine Center may be required to provide lifting and transfer assistance to patients.
